How do I contact Seawell’s to inquire about their services?

You may “Submit an RFP” located on the Seawell’s website under the “Plan An Event” tab or “Contact Us” tab, e-mail us at rseawell@sc.rr.com or call us at 803-771-7385.

How far in advance does Seawell’s need to be contacted to book an event?

It is best to reserve the facility and caterer you want as soon as you have a confirmed date.  Many peak wedding and holiday dates are contracted 6-12 months out.  Most facilities allow a cancellation up to 3 months out from the event with no penalty fee.

What services does Seawell’s provide?

Seawell’s can provide all of your catering needs including linens, tables, chairs, skirting, glassware, china, sterling silver, mirrors, candles, dance floors, staging and some decorations. 

Is the cost of the banquet hall included in the catering cost?

Not necessarily.  It depends on the event.

Will Seawell’s allow other caterers to use their banquet hall?

No.  Seawell’s has always provided its clients with the best quality food, beverage and service at the best value and therefore would not want to jeopardize its reputation by using unfamiliar caterers and vendors in their facility.

What can a client of Seawell’s provide for their event?

Clients can provide items such as alcohol, wedding cakes, birthday cakes, floral arrangements and decorations if they choose to do so.  Of course, we would be happy to assist you with all of your planning needs as we have ongoing relationships with the best vendors in the business.  Our event specialist can discuss your options or click here for a list of recommended vendors.

How does Seawell’s charge for an event?

Seawell’s generally charges by a "per-person" cost.  It is best to first determine a budget and then let the Seawell’s event specialist share with you the type event/reception such a budget will afford.

Does Seawell’s do any off premises catering?

Yes, we can cater at  your location or we are allowed access to any of the area’s most reputable event locations that are not owned or operated by other catering companies. Some of those locations are The Koger Center, Williams Brice Stadium, The State Museum, Columbia Museum of Art, EdVenture, The Columbia Historic Foundation, Capital Senior Center and The South Carolina State Fairgrounds to name a few.

How is an event booked at Seawell’s?

Once a date is set, a contract is sent over to you with all details included. Once signed, you are on the books.

Is there a deposit to hold a room?

A deposit is required to hold a room.   It is due when the contract is signed and is used as part of the final payment.

When does Seawell’s require a “final guarantee count” for an event?

The final count is due 48 hours prior to the event. This gives us time to order the items we need to prepare for your event and make sure they arrive to Seawell’s as fresh as possible. Seawell’s will provide food preparation and seating for a small percentage over your guarantee 

What type of payment will Seawell’s accept?

Seawell’s will accept payment with cash, check or the three major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express)
